Good News for South African Drivers: Petrol and Diesel Prices Set to Decrease

00:07:00
Good News for South African Drivers: Petrol and Diesel Prices Set to Decrease

It's been a tough year for South African drivers, with petrol and diesel prices reaching record highs. But there's some good news on the horizon: petrol prices will be coming down by R2.06 per litre from midnight, while diesel will see a drop of between R2.81 and R2.69 per litre from 50ppm and 500ppm, respectively.

This means that a litre of 95 unleaded petrol will cost R21.40 inland and R20.75 on the coast. While this decrease won't immediately ease the high cost of living in South Africa, it is a welcome relief for drivers who have been feeling the pinch at the pump.

The high food price inflation in South Africa has also been a major contributor to the current high cost of living. However, the decrease in petrol and diesel prices will hopefully help to alleviate some of the financial burden for South African households.

It's important to note that these price decreases are only temporary, and it's unclear at this time if they will be extended beyond the current month. However, for now, South African drivers can enjoy a bit of relief at the petrol station. Let's hope that this trend continues in the coming months and years.

C8 Mid engined Corvette first look
First look at the new C8 Corvette.

Since it's it's introduction in 1953, the Corvette has always been front engined. But designers have always envisioned it to eventually become mid engined; and that time has finally come.

The Corvette Stingray will be starting at under $60,000 way less than what everyone thought it would be for a mid engined Corvette.

The Corvette is still powered by a traditional V8, however it does away with its manual transmission option for double clutch gearbox.

The V8 LT2 engine produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when it's equipped with the optional performance exhaust and we are told that it will do 0-62mph/100kph in under 3 seconds.

Coming in at this price it puts it almost straight in the range of the new Toyota Supra that costs $57,000 comment below which one you would take.

New Lamborghini Urus SUV - The info you care about

New Lamborghini Urus SUV - The info you care about

Lamborghini Urus

The Lamborghini Urus, the new super SUV, powered by 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine.

- 0-100km/h in 3.6seconds
- Top Speed 305km/h /190mph
- 478 kW  / 650HP
- 845 Nm of torque

Although Lamborghini claims 3.6 seconds to 100, journalists who have tested it have achieved lower numbers.

The 4.0 twin turbo is a Audi derived motor, so not only do we know it's tried and tested, it probably makes the 478kw while it's hot at altitude, as we know Audi always underrates it's specs.

This is built off of the Q7 chassis, but not only is Lamborghini making it amazing on road but it boasts good off road prowess as well, going back to the Lamborghini LM002.

The interior is gorgeous, yet still unmistakably Lamborghini
